Given the increasingly diverse applications in which unmanned aircraft can be used (objective surveillance / monitoring, cadastral applications, aerial filming / photography, search / rescue, recreational use (model aircraft), etc.) as well as the fact that specific legislation The field of flight activities involving unmanned aerial vehicles is currently specific to each EU Member State and has given rise to a number of problems among operators of such aircraft with regard to compliance with the legal and conducting flight activities in different states.
This situation has led the European Commission to fund a series of awareness-raising, information and accountability campaigns for the general public on the legal conditions for aircraft planning and use in various EU Member States.
In support of these information campaigns, given the complexity of the legal conditions for conducting aircraft flight activities, the European Commission has funded an electronic platform to facilitate access to national regulations specific to the field. The information available on this platform aims to explain, for everyone's understanding, the legal conditions for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles as well as an index of these normative acts.
For a complete information, we remind you that starting with 11.09.2018, Regulation no. 1139/2018 on “common rules in the field of civil aviation and the establishment of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, amending Regulations (EC) no. 2111/2005, (CE) nr. 1008/2008, (EU) no. 996/2010, (EU) no. 376/2014 and Directives 2014/30 / EU and 2014/53 / EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, as well as repealing Regulations (EC) no. 552/2004 and (EC) no. 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council and of the Regulation (CEE) No 3922/91 of the Council ”, normative act whose provisions are obligatory also for Romania. Based on the provisions of Regulation no. 1139/2018, in the period 2019 - 2020 will be adopted a series of normative acts with direct applicability in all EU member states, normative acts that have the role of standardizing the legal conditions for planning and carrying out flight activities with unmanned aircraft in space European air.
