Romania will have a new calibration aircraft that will ensure the safety of traffic in the airspace of our country, as well as landings and takeoffs of all civil aircraft The new aircraft, Beechcraft 350 Super King Air will become the property of the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority in a year and will replace the old calibration aircraft, which has already exceeded 10,000 flight hours.

The manufacturer of the new generation aircraft is the American company Textron Aviation and the purchase will be made through Beechcraft Berlin

Aviation.

The calibration aircraft is intended to ensure safety in the field of civil aviation, by checking the steering systems used for landing - take-off

aircraft at airports and on air routes, verification and flight supervision of the operation of air navigation devices,

aerial surveillance and communications in the field of aeronautics, as well as flight verification of instrument air navigation procedures.

The contract for the new aircraft was signed this week by Armand Petrescu, General Director of the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority

and Rolf Kaselau, Managing Director of Beechcraft Berlin Aviation GmbH, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Alexandru Răzvan Cuc.

Răzvan Cuc, Minister of Transport stated that: “I congratulate the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority for this acquisition that will be used

for ensuring the safety of civil aviation and for increasing the confidence of passengers in Romanian air transport. There was a great need for such

performance aircraft to ensure that the means of aerial surveillance are maintained at a high level of performance. "

The purchase of the new generation aircraft guarantees the maintenance of air navigation systems, verification of precision procedures and

non-precision, as well as the implementation of the new satellite procedures, to international ICAO and EASA standards, to ensure safety

flights to the highest quality standards.

The value of the Beechcraft 350 Super King Air aircraft is approximately 9 million euros and will be paid from the Aeronautical Authority's own sources.

The operation of the new aircraft will be taken over by the 11 crew members who

ensures the operation and maintenance of the currently flying calibration aircraft. Thus, the old flight test aircraft B 350 FL-73,

registered YR-CAA and named "Colorici" crew, will be retired after a record activity for an aircraft flying in conditions

special, over 11 years of flight.
