The first exam for obtaining BIR (Basic Instrument Rating) was organized on February 16, 2022, by the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority.
BIR qualification offers the pilot the right to fly in IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) conditions on single-pilot airplanes for which class ratings are held. If the pilot holds a valid single-engine class rating, the privileges of BIR qualification can be exercised also at night.
