On the 22nd of March 2021, the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority, represented by Director General, Mr. Nicolae STOICA and the International Air Transport Association, represented by Mr. Rafael SCHVARTZMAN, Regional Vice President for Europe, signed, online, the Memorandum of Understanding on using the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) as a source of additional information for safety oversight in the civil aviation domain.
The director general of the RCAA, Nicolae STOICA, argued that “this Memorandum of Understanding, strengthens the cooperation between these two bodies and increases the accuracy of the information used in order to guarantee the highest level of safety”.
This MoU is the result of two months of combined effort, between the director general of the Romanian CAA and the IATA team, in order to develop a collaboration on operational safety audits performed for air operators.
