The Director General of the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority, Nicolae STOICA, participated on 15 June 2023 in the inauguration of Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport, the first new international airport to be certified by AACR in its almost 30 years of existence.
In his speech at the inauguration of Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, the Director General of the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority, Nicolae STOICA, underlined, first of all, the efforts made by the AACR team, as well as the importance of collaboration with the Brașov County Council and ROMATSA.
"Today, we have the honour to celebrate the opening of Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport. It is the first newly built international airport that the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority certifies in its 30 years of existence. I would like to underline the importance of this event as it is one of its kind. The opening of this airport reflects our constant efforts to ensure the safety and efficiency of air operations. It is the result of close cooperation between the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority, Brașov County Council and all those involved in the development and construction of this project. The Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority plays a crucial role in the process of opening a new airport. We are responsible for the implementation of international aviation regulations and standards. We work closely with airport representatives to ensure that the infrastructure meets the highest safety standards and that all aspects of flight safety are properly addressed. The opening of this new, state-of-the-art airport is the result of hard work by our team and close collaboration with everyone involved in this project. We are proud to be able to provide a modern and safe infrastructure that promotes development and connectivity for our community. The inauguration of Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport was also attended by the President of the Senate, Nicolae CIUCĂ, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Sorin GRINDEANU and the former President of Brașov County Council, the current Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration, Adrian VEȘTEA.
