On 24.02.2020, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Communications (MTIC) took place, at the request of Minister Lucian Bode, the working meeting with all stakeholders of the units under or under the authority of the Ministry, aviation, railway, naval, medical and road that implements measures to limit and prevent possible diseases with Coronavirus.
During the meeting, the stage of implementation of the measures that were established in charge of the units subordinated to the Ministry was presented and it was found that all the deadlines assumed were met.
At the same time, taking into account the latest developments, the following measures have been established to be implemented as a matter of urgency:
- Ensuring special landing corridors inside airports;
- Establishment and provision of specially designed places for completing forms at airports;
- The possibility of distributing the forms, which must be completed, once the passengers have boarded the aircraft;
- Dissemination of information on hygiene and prevention measures at airports, railway stations, trains, metro stations, ports or post offices, drawn up by the competent authorities;
- The possibility for the specialized personnel within the hospitals subordinated to MTIC to respond quickly to the requirements coming from the Public Health Directorates;
- The possibility / recommendation to all air, railway, road or naval operators, which carry out activities on the Romanian territory, to be able to provide passengers with protective masks;
- Ensuring the necessary materials for the protection of the Romanian Post personnel who handle the correspondence (envelopes / parcels) coming from the areas affected by this virus.
All measures in charge of MTIC, through its subordinate units or under its authority, will be monitored and reported promptly to the leadership of the Ministry and the coordinating institutions at national level.
